The Great Update of 2022

It’s been awhile
It’s been awhile… since I gave an update on my pretentious crap. In my last update, from three years ago, I had two albums I was trying to finish. I succeeded in this task and they are now available; The Void (2019) my heavy guitar album, and Generation 4 (2020) which showcases my go-to style of music composition. The completion of these albums marks the end of what I’m calling “Phase One” of my musical abominations. Phase One comprises all the music that first began in the early 2010s when I really had no clue what the hell I was doing. I learned A lot during the last decade and hope to bury it all and never look back.

Studio One
In my last update I noted that I was planning on upgrading my studio rig to newer software. I had been using Pro Tools 7 and finally tried out Pro Tools 12. My experience was as expected, it ran like shit due to compatibility issues with my hardware. This was not that different from my experience with version 7. After some research I decided to give Studio One a try after learning that it was the youngest of all the commonly used Digital Audio Workstations. I’ve been using Studio One for two years now and it’s been an amazing experience. It works flawlessly and is very innovative with it’s super fast work-flow features. I’ve not used many of the other commonly used DAWs so I cannot speak on their behalf but Studio One makes Pro Tools seem like an old crusty dog. My most recent album, Generation 4, was started in Pro Tools but was then transferred into Studio One to be completed. From here on out it's nothing but Studio One for me.

Current Projects
I’ve mostly just been learning studio one as much as I can and working the daily grind of life. However there is one other thing I’m currently involved in. I won’t give much information at this time because I like to be mysterious and illusive. What I will say is that in addition to creating music I’m now involved in Video Game Development. Sadly this is also just a hobby and thus I still need to work my day job.
